The Untold Story of Maratha Queen Tarabai: A Warrior, Mother, and Leader

  Tarabai Bhosale, the wife of Chhatrapati Rajaram Bhosale and daughter-in-law of the renowned Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, reigned as queen from 1700-1708 and again from 1710-1713. Following her husband's death, Tarabai took control of the Maratha Empire and demonstrated her strength as a ruler by fiercely defending her kingdom against hostile foes. She was also the daughter of Maratha General Hambirao Mohite and Mainabai, and was born in 1675. Despite growing up amidst war and conflict, she was a brave and intelligent child. Her father was a trusted confidante of Shivaji, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Maratha Empire, and Tarabai learned values of courage, loyalty, and patriotism from him and his comrades.
